Who or what do you live for?

Experiences. Experiences make a person who they are. Good experiences, bad experiences, happy experiences, sad experiences, awkward experiences. I have "experienced" a lot of different things in my life. All of those different types of experiences have made me the person I am today. But who exactly am I? Who or what do I live for? Who do I want to be? Have you ever asked yourself that? To answer those questions effectively, we must stop and examine our lives. Are we too selfish to realize the people that genuinely care about us? Are we living for ourselves and not for God? And are we merely "talking" about a change, but not really changing? Our actions speak LOUDER than our words. Are we living the life that God wants, or are we relying on ourselves and living the selfish life that we want? In Philipians, Paul is writing to the people, urging them to live a humble life, and put others before themselves. In chapter 2 of Philippians Paul says, "Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others." Philipians 2:3,4.

Putting others before ourselves can prove to be challanging. But, it's so important to live a selfless, humble life- one of true humility. Before God can use us, we must become broken and willingly accept that we are not the best; that we are nothing without Jesus Christ.

So, who are you? Who or what do you live for? Who do YOU want to be? I challange you, just like Paul challenged his people- live a life of humility and become broken for the cause of Jesus Christ. Trials are going to come, but REJOICE in the promise of Jesus' soon return. If it is your desire to be used by God, let Him have complete and total control over your life. Live humbly, walk in His footsteps and He will lead you to your ultimate goal- heaven.
